Scratchies…
We are addicted to scratchies. First, a colleague went to Sydney and bought some scratchies back. We scratched and scratched, and found that we won $11 (I believe the damage was about $15 – 20).
Then another colleague went to Perth for Christmas. We were hoping that he could collect the money and buy more scratchies. Well, because the original batch of scratchies were from Sydney and he was in Perth, he didn’t get to collect them. He did, however, bought more scratchies. And so, we scratched and scratched again… I believe we won $10 with the damanage of $12. Hmm… not bad, huh?
And most recently, the husband of our first colleague went to Sydney and bought $80 worth of scratchies for us! This time, we really scratched, and scratched and scratched… I believe we won $54.
So…
Investment = $15 (assuming the lower number for better ROI) + $12 + $80 = $107
Returns = $11 + $10 + $54 = $75
ROI = -29.9%
The colleague who went to Perth said that in gamble (are we gambling? I thought we were just scratching!), we need to spend money before we’ll win. Well, any more colleagues going Australia?
